Chapter 9: Blaze
It had been just over three weeks since Teagan and Tanner had run away from the club. Every day, it was an ordeal to get out of bed. I spent the first two weeks riding all over the place looking for her. Weâd tried Gastonia again but found she hadnât returned or spoken to anyone there. I took to just stopping in random towns at garages searching to see if anyone had hired a female mechanic. When I wasnât searching, I was drinking so I could forget my pain. Falcon had become my constant companion. Honestly, I think the club had him watching me so I wouldnât kill myself.
Now, I didnât leave my room other than to get alcohol. I couldnât sleep without drinking myself into oblivion only to dream about her. I didnât work on the bikes and church was held without me. I knew I couldnât go on doing this. It wasnât fair to the club. That was why I was outside Terrorâs office today. I knocked on his office door. He hollered to come in. When I stepped in, he looked surprised.
âHey, Blaze. Come on in. Have a seat. What can I do for you?â He was trying for a relaxed tone. I sat down.
âTerror, I wanted to talk to you.â He nodded. âI wanted to give you this.â I handed him a piece of paper.
He frowned and opened it. As he read it, I watched his face. He looked up and growled. âFuck no! Youâre not leaving the club. Youâre a Warrior. If you need to take some time away, thatâs fine, but Iâm not accepting this. Jesus Christ, weâll find her.â
I shook my head. âEven if we did, itâs highly unlikely sheâll ever come back here or to me. And even if she did take me back, how can I bring her here where sheâd be reminded all the time that we beat her brother. And every time she saw Lori, sheâd remember that we let her stay unpunished. I just need to face it. My fucking life is over. Without her, I donât care about anything. Itâs not fair to the club. I donât work and I donât participate in club business. Hell, I couldnât even make myself go to my brother, Devil Dogâs, wedding or to see Viperâs newborn son, Cayden. It hurts too fucking much because Iâll never get that with Teagan.â
He sighed. âShit. If this wasnât enough, Viper has that shit, Cody, bugging him to rehire him at the garage and take her place. As if he could do it. Heâs told him to get lost more than once. Blaze, I do think we can find her, and we can get her to come back. Itâll take a lot and maybe we have to rethink our course when it comes to Lori. Because I agree, even if she could forgive us, can she stand to see her every day? Iâve been thinking of some options. But first, we need to find her.
