Chapter 9: Blaze

It had been just over three weeks since Teagan and Tanner had run away from the club. Every day, it was an ordeal to get out of bed. I spent the first two weeks riding all over the place looking for her. We’d tried Gastonia again but found she hadn’t returned or spoken to anyone there. I took to just stopping in random towns at garages searching to see if anyone had hired a female mechanic. When I wasn’t searching, I was drinking so I could forget my pain. Falcon had become my constant companion. Honestly, I think the club had him watching me so I wouldn’t kill myself.

Now, I didn’t leave my room other than to get alcohol. I couldn’t sleep without drinking myself into oblivion only to dream about her. I didn’t work on the bikes and church was held without me. I knew I couldn’t go on doing this. It wasn’t fair to the club. That was why I was outside Terror’s office today. I knocked on his office door. He hollered to come in. When I stepped in, he looked surprised.

“Hey, Blaze. Come on in. Have a seat. What can I do for you?” He was trying for a relaxed tone. I sat down.

“Terror, I wanted to talk to you.” He nodded. “I wanted to give you this.” I handed him a piece of paper.

He frowned and opened it. As he read it, I watched his face. He looked up and growled. “Fuck no! You’re not leaving the club. You’re a Warrior. If you need to take some time away, that’s fine, but I’m not accepting this. Jesus Christ, we’ll find her.”

I shook my head. “Even if we did, it’s highly unlikely she’ll ever come back here or to me. And even if she did take me back, how can I bring her here where she’d be reminded all the time that we beat her brother. And every time she saw Lori, she’d remember that we let her stay unpunished. I just need to face it. My fucking life is over. Without her, I don’t care about anything. It’s not fair to the club. I don’t work and I don’t participate in club business. Hell, I couldn’t even make myself go to my brother, Devil Dog’s, wedding or to see Viper’s newborn son, Cayden. It hurts too fucking much because I’ll never get that with Teagan.”

He sighed. “Shit. If this wasn’t enough, Viper has that shit, Cody, bugging him to rehire him at the garage and take her place. As if he could do it. He’s told him to get lost more than once. Blaze, I do think we can find her, and we can get her to come back. It’ll take a lot and maybe we have to rethink our course when it comes to Lori. Because I agree, even if she could forgive us, can she stand to see her every day? I’ve been thinking of some options. But first, we need to find her.
